Were you told that you are under arrest?
Were you told to attend a police video record of the interview?
Were you told that anything you say may be used against you?
If you were contacted by a member of the police force, you should seek legal advice from a criminal defence lawyer before speaking to them.
Our legal practice director Khew Wong is experienced in defending his clients and providing legal representation at all stages of the criminal process for both summary and indictable offences. Whether it is sentencing or trial hearing, we will always consider all options available to achieve the best possible outcome.
In criminal law proceedings, time is of the essence and preparation is important. If you find yourself in need of legal representation for a criminal or road traffic offences, contact us immediately and we will guide you through the legal process and represent you in Court.
Having practiced predominantly in Criminal Defence, Family Law, and Restraining Order, Khew has only one goal since he was 18 years old, which is to assist the community and achieving a balance within the criminal justice system. He saw the Practice of Law as a vocation to do greater good for the community. After graduating law at the age of 21 years old, along with multiple other certificates and achievements, Khew practiced solely in Criminal Defence, Restraining Order and Family Court hearings.
Since the age of 22, Khew has embraced the years of experience in cross-examination and the art of trial advocacy. He aims to see the “End Goal” in a case, rather than just “traversing along the journey in litigation”. Khew has the necessary legal experience to ensure that you obtain the best possible legal outcome in your case.
If you are charged with an offence, this can have huge implications on your reputation, livelihood and even your liberty. This puts even more importance on selecting the right lawyer to represent you. An underprepared and inexperienced lawyer could result in a devastating outcome in your case, along with wasted time and money. To simply put it, a party to a hearing will either win, lose or reach a “compromise” that is acceptable in the eyes of the Court. Your chosen lawyer must be able to:
Determine your prospects of acquittal based on the evidence available;
Know the law and provide you with the best legal solution possible;
If the matter needs to proceed to a trial hearing, be prepared to defend your case.
Whilst these 3 key points appear to be a summary of all the important factors that a lawyer should consider, they are the backbone and pillar to a formidable criminal defence.
